In many places VISA® credit cards are mandatory. For example, last year I tried to register for G.R.E., and they did not accept my Axis bank debit card which is a VISA card. In their website, they ask for VISA® or MasterCard® credit card/debit card. Can anyone please explain?

    My current list consists of a Shell Mastercard (save 5% on gas), a Chase Freedom Visa Card, and a Kroger Mastercard (to get money back on groceries). What do you think? Is there anything else you would recommend?

      I make around 40k per year, i currently have a visa card with ,500 limit (i owe around ,500 on this card), i just got a AMEX blue card the other day.

      How many cards can i own before it starts to hurt my credit, i am not planning on maxing them out, i just wnat to slowly build the credit limit on each of them.
