I currently have excellent credit, although my credit history isn't very long.. started in 2006. I have 1 chase debit card and 2 Chase credit cards.

My first credit card was activated in 2006, and I stopped using it in November of 2007. My last posted date was 11/11/07. I always made payments on time, and I have no payments due.

The reason I stopped using it was because I got a new Chase Marriott Rewards Credit Card. I use that all the time and always make payments on time. Is it affecting my credit score that I stopped using my first credit card? And will it affect my credit score if I stop using my Marriott Rewards Card and get a new Chase Cash Back Credit Card? Do you have to cancel credit cards or can you just stop using them? Thanks in advance for your help!
