    I have a debit card that is not connected to any other banking account (checking or otherwise), I need to know is this card considered a negotiable instrument?
    I have received two responses to this question one no and the other yes. Although I am thankful for the responses I still need an answer I could work with; thus for the no answer I would presume once I put money on the card it does become a negotiable instrument although still not connected to a bank account. Would this be a correct presumption?

    I looked at my credit card statement today and found at least 250.00 worth of unauthorized credit charges, which occurred today and one yesterday from yahoo voice, which I don't even use. I called my credit card company and they stated I will have to wait 8 days because the charges are pending. This a crock of b.s.

    Quick math problem for you: calculate what you pay in interest and fees to your credit company. Subtract from that what you're given in "cash back" form. Presto: you have what your credit company WOULD be charging you, if they didn't also have to incorporate the money they give back to you as part of your bill!
    Man, I have completely underestimated the stupidity of the American consumer. I'll have to incorporate this into a business plan: charge 2X more than what I would otherwise be charging, and then write a check to my customers for X. They'll think I'm giving them free money, apparently!
