There are lots of types of Balance Transfer Credit Cards. Individuals who have one or more credit card with balance that they cannot pay off, 0 percent Balance Transfers is a great opportunity. This may be an excellent way of paying off your money owed with lower interest rates on debit and credit cards so as to pay it off without much pressure. In case you wouldn't have any credit card with zero balance, you'll decide for your credit card with the lowest balance and phone the credit company to invite approximately their special transfer rates. Make sure you ask the length of the offer. Since the credit card firms will post your payments to the account with lower pastime first, you'll pay down up to you'll be able to on the card depending on how they respond. You should first call the credit company of your credit card with 0 balance to be able to make Balance Transfer Credit Cards. Make an inquiry to know whether they have got life time Balance Transfer Credit Cards special and 0 percent Balance Transfer Credit Cards. The later is a better option because here you will need to pay only 5.9 % to 7.nine % for the balance life you could have as a substitute of 0 % for six to twelve months after which 12 to 14.nine % for the rest of the balance. If you wish to practice for a new credit card with 0 balance, first do a thorough research. Despite the fact that the period of zero pastime is important, more important is the purchase rate after the end of that duration. This may increasingly depend upon your payment history and credit score. You may be asked to pay anywhere among 10 and 20 percent. The lower the rate the better it is for you but for the reason that credit card companies are a lot stricter now, a Balance Transfer Credit Cards rate of 12 to fourteen percent is excellent enough. Getting a nil% Balance Transfer Credit Cards card will let you to pay down your money owed with low interest.

I just received an offer for a new credit card that will allow me to balance transfer with 0% apr for a full year. I have been looking for a new card to balance transfer because my current apr on the one card is extremely high. If I balance transfer the amount, should I keep the one card open and pay it off each month, like for gas, or should I close it because that would then leave me with 3 credit cards open. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Why or why not? Neither credit cards were past due, over the limit, or had late payment. Thanks.
Also, the credit card I used to pay off the other card, has 0% interest for the first year, and my monthly payments will be less. After the first year, the apr will be the same as the credit card I paid off, but by then the balance will be paid off. I did the transfer to avoid interest over the next year. Will the other card close my account? If so, how will that look on my credit report even if I've never been late with payments, but may have made minimum payments?
The balance transfer fee was only for a few thousand, so I didn't mind.
The card I paid off has an annual membership fee, despite how many years I've been with them. They haven't closed the account, but a friend said it's a possibility and I'm curious.

I am not a US citizen; I am a civil engineer from abroad; I have a green card since end of 2005; Accepted my first position in the US last january 2006 with 45K salary. Presently I am in a 60K position. I have a bank account in the US since 2003 and 2 saving accounts since 2006 (totalling more than 15K). My real question is: how can I have a sufficient credit history if all my credit card applications (even from SEARS) are denied for that lack of sufficient credit history?

History: This person applied for home mortgage loan 7 months ago. At that time he did not have any liabilities/loans and had funds in his bank account too.

Bank went through loan approval process and approved this person for several types of loans (80/20, 80/15/5, etc) after looking into salary, bank statements, etc. This person went ahead and signed a contract with builder to build a new house.

Things have changed and now this person does not have money to make even 5% down and still wants to proceed with home purchse since there are enough credit card balance transfer offers he can use to make 5% or even 20% down without a problem.

I guess my question is would bank have any issues with down payment using credit card balance transfer? Is there a possibility bank would know this person ows money to a credit card company (if not timed properly since they are going to run a credit report again)? Has anybody done it before? any legal issues with this approach?

Thanks!
