Debit Cards?

I need a debit card or credit card where can i find a really good, safe one? I will b turning 17 in 2 months and I have someone who can and will cosings for one/

At 17, you can’t legally sign contracts and therefore, cannot have a credit card account in your name. Someone else can put you on their credit card account as an authorized user.
You should also understand that debit cards and credit cards are two different things. Open a checking account and get a debit card. Use the card and the money comes directly out of your bank account.
With a credit card, you have a line of credit. Use the card and the charge goes on your statement. You then pay at leasts the minimum amount each month.
Any credit card or debit card can be safe as long as you exercise caution in using them. Don’t allow others to use your card. Don’t give out your PIN number. Make sure you keep your card secure and monitor the statements.
Join a local credit union. Obviously, you have to open a checking account and put cash into it for a debit card. For a credit card they will look at your creditworthiness – e.g. do you have income? – and make a determination as to what credit limit they might give you. If you are not emancipated from your parents, they may have to be on the account until you are 18. Use credit wisely; it can hurt you for a long time if you abuse it. Do the right things and it will be cheaper for you when you make bigger purchases later in life (car and house).
You can only get a debit card. Debit cards draw from your bank account. They come standard with pretty much every bank and people use them now instead of checks.
