You could worry about it. But it’d probably be a waste of your time. People do get taken advantage of sometimes but I’m confused as to what you’re worried about? You wrote your ssn on a piece of paper, and they gave it back to you?
The cashiers I’ve all worked with who have decided to turn to crime as a way to bump their pay check aren’t the kind of people who would come up with a grand scheme that involved stealing your identity. They work retail, they just steal product until they get arrested.
Worrying about that is kind of like worrying about plane crashes, or terrorist attacks. Yeah, they happen, but not nearly often enough for it to be something you should think about. Aren’t there more important things you could be doing?
