If you applied online, it should be in minutes, if not seconds. If you applied by mail, it could take about 4 weeks.

Depends on the company. Some do it over the phone in 10 minutes or less. Others make you wait 24 hours.
Usually, if you have good credit, you can get an immediate respone over the internet or phone by one of the big credit companies such as Capital One, Citibank, MBNA, etc… If you do it by mail, prepare to wait at least one week, probably more. I’ve done both before and online is the way to go!
