applying for credit card, does that start the statue limitattion over again?

I am bieng hounded from debt collectors, I found a letter on the net that I can send to creditors stop contacting me. Futher more those debts or 8 years old

    If the debts are over 8 years old, they are past the SOL and not legally valid. Any threats these collectors make are FALSE threats and you can sue them. I would record every conversation you have with them as evidence.

    Yes, if you send that letter by certified mail requesting that they stop calling you – the phone calls and mail will stop as soon as they receive it.
    Don’t pay any site for this common letter.

    Warning: They will have no recourse and take you to court that much faster.
