How to use visa card to pay online?

I want to buy a cellphone on line, and I want to pay by my visa card. The web asks for my visa card number, CVV2 number, name and expiration date. Is it safe to pay?
I am very worry about it. If someone stole my card information? Can he use my card to buy online?

You are right to be concerned.
Only use a credit card to pay online if:
    1) The company has a big name (like a department store or something)
    2) The website is secure (the address starts with "https://" Notice the s!)
    3) The padlock on the browser indicates that the secure page is correct.

If someone did steal your card information, they could use your card to buy stuff online. The bank will investigate those frauds, but you’ll have lots of hassles to get it cleared up.

    Be careful out there!

If you’re buying from a legitimate site that uses secure technology (does the URL start with https rather than just http?) then you’re probably safe.

If you’re ordering from http://www.scamfakephones-r-us.cn, on the other hand, then no, it’s probably not safe to enter any of your card information.

If you think you have any reason not to trust the site, then DON’T TRUST IT. Go get a prepaid card and use that to make your purchase.
