why do people use discover card or american express if Visa and Mastercard are accepted more?

Why would anyone use these cards? (unless, I suppose, they already have a visa or master card)

0% promotional apr for 9 months on balance transfers might prmpt some people to open one. Some offer other rewards too like cash back or sky miles.

I know with Am ex you get lots of points for using it. What you can use these points for I amnot sure but it is huge!

I’ve had my Discover card almost since they started. Back then, they were the only ones offering cashback rewards. But acceptance was limited.

However, Discover is pretty much accepted everywhere. In the past 10 years, I’ve only encountered two places that didn’t take Discover. Both were small restaurants.

Perhaps there are certain areas of the country that don’t have such wide acceptance — maybe out west. But I’ve used my Discover all over the eastern half.

    Rewards and incentives mostly.

I have a visa I use and a debit card…those are enough for me.

Discover Card offers a Cash Back Bonus on purchases, which adds up to a good amount if you charge everything on the card!

The Discover card, is worthless, I don’t carry one.

I do pay to carry an AX card because they offer a return policy on EVERYTHING that I buy. If a merchant agrees to accept AX, they have to accept AX’s return policy, and that overrides store policy if you have a receipt proving that is how you paid for the transaction.

    It’s a little known fact.
