Washington Mutual Credit Card App?

I filled out an online app for a WaMu card. It didn't give me the instant approval but said I would hear something from them. Well 2 weeks has passed and still no word. My question is. Do they have to send a letter to you one way or the other stating whether you were approved or denied?

I applied for one with them a few years back after they approved to finance our mortgage. I got a letter I guess…oh 2-3 weeks later telling me I was approved and what my limit was. However, I wasn’t approved for the amount I applied for; it was a lot lower. So don’t lose hope just yet.
If they deny you, they are required by law to send you a letter telling you so and explaining why.
