Can I use Discover Card through Paypal to send payment in euros? need the right credit card quick !! goin on a trip….?
Jul 14

I know that if you're 18 and under (I am 16 years old) then you will need to have a parent or guardian that is 18 or older to sign the thing for you to get a prepaid credit card. So I was wondering do they ask for ID? Because I don't have an ID to show them proof that I am who I say I am.

Do they ask for an ID at all? Or should I not worry about it?

You just need to be 14 to get a prepaid but a SSN is needed.
You can get a Visa Prepaid at

You could always apply for a prepaid card online – just make sure to get your parents permission and any info you might need from them first.

First off, you cannot get a prepaid credit card.

You can however get a prepaid debt card.

And that can be in your name. It’s a debt card. You can only spend the money that is on it. Nothing more.

Anyone can obtain a prepaid visa debt card from retailers such as Wal Mart, CVS, Walgreens, Dollar General, and I am sure many others.

How do you think e-bay would ask for ID? It’s online. If you bid on items you have to be 18. If you buy items that are just a straight sell then you just put in your info and buy them.

Although since you are under 18 you probably should let your parents be a part of it so you don’t end up getting into a mess they have to try to get you out of.

DONT BUY ON EBAY …… YOU’LL GET THE BIG SHAFT

DONT EVER USE PAYPAL!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!

You can purchase a prepaid debit card, not a prepaid credit card, the verb age is different. You can go to almost any store and purchase a prepaid debit card, but you need to have your parents signature/approval for a prepaid credit card.

  7. 7. Sojourn Says:

You have a couple of options available to you:

    1) A prepaid, single load credit card – you can usually buy these at grocery stores or convenience stores. They are also known as Visa Gift Cards. You buy them in a specific denomination and once that amount is used, the card is no longer valid.

    2) Prepaid, reloadable credit cards – these are granted by financial institutions and act like a credit or debit card. They are not an extension of credit, so there is no credit report involved, but they are called ‘credit’ cards because they are branded with the Visa or MasterCard symbol and can be used as a credit card or as a debit card with a PIN number. Money can be added (or loaded) onto the account at any point after the card has been activated. Certain fees may apply, although many companies will waive regular fees if the holder meets certain conditions.

The reloadable credit card option requires ID for several reasons but one primary reason is the result of the Patriot Act – a US statute that went into effect in 2001 as a way to allow the government to gather more information on the movement of money in the country in an effort to fight terrorist funding.

If you do not have ID, a parent can apply for the card and order a second user card in your name with a separate balance you can use for your eBay purchases.

    Hope that helps!
