    Open an account at a credit union and then after a few months try for a credit card. It’s not going to be easy an you have already screwed up.

    You need to realize that it may not be possible for you to obtain such a credit card.

    I filed bankruptcy, and it is impossible for me to get such a card now even though I have a good income each month. I have to either do without (which I do) or pay the very high interest rates and put money up front for a secured card.

    Unfortunately there are people who slam questioners with "You’ve screwed up and you must now pay the price." A poor financial situation is not always the fault of the person experiencing the difficulty.
