I recently got denied for a credit card, they said I can request the credit report, who do I request it from?
they put:
You have a right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to
know the information contained in your credit file at the
consumer reporting agency. The reporting agency played
no part in our decision and is unable to supply the
specific reasons why we have denied credit to you.
Free copy of your credit report
We encourage you to review your credit report for accuracy.
You also have a right to a free copy of your credit
report from the consumer reporting agency, if you request
it no later than 60 days after you receive this notice.
In addition, if you find that any information contained
in the report you receive is inaccurate or incomplete, you
have a right to dispute the matter with the reporting agency.

The company that denied you credit will send you a denial letter in the mail within 30 days. On this letter it tells you which credit bureau denied you as well as include their mailing address. You will need to send a copy of your denial letter to that credit bureau with a note stating that you would like a copy of your credit report as you were denied credit.
In addition, you are allowed to request a free copy of your credit report every year from all three credit bureaus (without needing a denial letter). I use annualcreditreport.com and it links me right where I need to go.
That’s not spam, either
You can request a copy of all three of your credit reports from http://www.annualcreditreport.com
Do not go to any other site as they will charge you for the report – the above site is the only one established by law and run by the credit bureaus.
