Fair Credit Reporting by debtor once debt is paid off?

I have come to an agreement of a settlement with a company I owe money to, not for full amount. They want to say on my credit report once I pay them the settled amout: "Paid in full, but did not pay full amount". Is this legal?
This is like they get paid AND they get to still give me a black mark on my credit report.....

Unfortunately it is legal. If you have a valid reason why it was not paid you have the right to add coments to the report explaining it. If its not the greaest reason, better off leaving it alone.

Tell them you won’t pay the settlement unless they agree to report to your credit bureau that you paid account in full as agreed. Ask for it in writing. It doesn’t affect them in the least so there is no reason why they wouldn’t do it.

you can certainly request them to put"paid as agreed" and if they dont -dont pay them. get it in writing, and if you have other questions contact the FCA.
